Urgest citizens to fill out North Branch survey

To the editor:
Citizen involvement always enhances the democratic process. It builds trust and helps generate policies that reflect the residentsí best interests. Involvement is key to building a positive community. Citizen participation improves the trust level of government and taps into the vital local knowledge and talents, and creates a much needed constituency to support planning.
We are glad there is an opportunity to have a voice through the survey that the city is currently undertaking. This is a positive step.
If you have not filled out the survey (one survey per household) that was printed in the Peach, be sure you stop by the Town (City) Hall and pick up a copy of the survey questions. This is your opportunity to have your say in answering the basic question of ìwhat kind of community do I want North Branch to be?î
The surveys must be filled out and mailed or delivered to the town (city) hall by April 16, 2001.
The greater the response, the more accurate the picture of the ìidealî North Branch. Getting the pulse of residents is absolutely essential in determining the direction North Branch is headed. It is also equally important that each and every survey is taken into consideration and that the information gathering process is fair and interpreted without bias. Remember it takes a whole community to provide a vision.
