NB Community Theatre donates $5,000 to schools
The North Branch School District accepted a check for $5,000 from the North Branch Community Theatre group for the construction of a theatre storage facility at the high school.
Dan DeWan, representing the community theatre, presented the check to the school board at the boardís meeting April 19. The funds will cover about half of a project proposal designed to provide storage space for props, supplies and costumes at the high school.
Superintendent Dr. Robert Stepaniak explained that the community theatre group utilizes the stage and auditorium facilities, and that the $5,000 was a way of saying ëthanks.í
The new storage facility will be shared by the high school drama program and the community theatre. It will be constructed on a convenient space adjacent to the high school near a rear entrance to the auditorium.
