Posted 8/15/01 Farm Bureau to hold 13th annual Ag Scavenger Hunt at Minnesota State Fair Minnesota Farm Bureau Federationís (MFBF) 13th annual Ag Scavenger Hunt will provide children and adults with a fun and adventuresome opportunity to learn about Minnesota agriculture. The Ag Scavenger Hunt will be held Monday, Aug. 27 at the Minnesota State Fair. ěThis program provides families with a unique opportunity to learn about Minnesotaís amazing agriculture sector by visiting different agriculture displays during another Minnesota tradition ó the State Fair,î said MFBF President Al Christopherson. ěThis activity helps show the diversity of agriculture as well as how it affects our daily life in many ways,î Christopherson said. The Ag Scavenger Hunt is open to children 13 years and younger who may register at any one of the participating exhibits beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 27. When a child registers, he or she will be given an agriculture quiz worksheet and a map of the participating exhibitors on the fairgrounds. Children then proceed to ěhunt downî the correct answers to the questions. Upon completion of the entire worksheet, children should return them to the Farm Bureau building located on the fairgrounds at 1305 Underwood Street (west side of the Food Court) to receive their prizes. The Ag Scavenger Hunt is sponsored by cooperating agricultural organizations and companies, including: Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation, Midwest Dairy Association, Minnesota Depart-ment of Agriculture, Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom, Minnesota Beef Council, Minnesota FFA, Minnesota Honey Producers, Minnesota Pork Producers Association, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, Minnesota Turkey Research & Promotion Council and University of Minnesota 4-H Youth Development.
