She says the voice of the people falls on deaf ears
To the editor:
Apparently the language spoken in North Branch is not English. We certainly care about every single child. Wake up! We canít afford to keep building, and overcrowding the schools, and expect Joe Taxpayer to cough up.
It isnít the school referendum weíre talking about. The more housing developments, the more children, the extra services (police, fire, etc.) required and then we will certainly have tax levies for parks and sewer assessments.
The council is still singing the same old song, ìour infrastructure is not burdened.î This was the song they sang during the last election in order to win. But the tune is ringing sour notes.
Maybe they think the trees are going to drop money instead of leaves.
Slow the growth!
If the council doesnít take the initiative and slow the grow, the people will.
Many states (33) have gone to year around schooling, and saved the taxpayers millions of dollars. It works. I know first hand. Why not here?
The school board, and Jasonís article in the Post Review are trying to lay a guilt trip on us. Sorry, it wonít work.
If this aggressive development program continues, the price we pay isnít going to be pleasant. Put the pressure on the council where it belongs, and give the school some breathing room.
