With liberty and justice for all

To the editor:

Are these idle words of the founders of our country, or does our government actually provide each and every citizen with the promise upon which these ideas were established in the Declaration of Independence?
ìIn Congress, July 4, 1776. the unanimous declaration of the thirteen United States of America.î

ìWhen in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among other powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Natureís God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to separation.î
ìWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, . . . ì
. . . ìThe history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let the facts be submitted to a candid world.î
ìHe has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.î
ìHe has made Judges dependent upon his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount of payment of their salaries.î
ìHe has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat their substance.î
ìFor imposing Taxes on us without our consent.î
ìFor depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury.î
ìIn every stage of these Oppressions, We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.î
Is our government providing, ìLiberty and justice for all,îor does it follow the path of the King of Great Britain, to whom our independence was declared?
We, as citizens of the United States of America and the city of North Branch, Minnesota, are suffering under a Tyrannical System of Government, which includes city, county, state and federal oppressions.
Our city, state and federal government, including the justice systems, are intent upon depriving us with the justice guaranteed to us under the Constitutions of the State of Minnesota and the United States of America, based upon its refusal to enforce the legitimate laws of our land.
Individuals, while members of government, have benefitted from their illegal acts, as the expense and suffering of the public and affected parties.
Investigation and prosecution of these criminal acts, has been refused and delayed by our legal system, due to the attitude of our government, which is designed to protect itself from public scrutiny and redress of wrongs.
Recent revelations of the FBI and government improprieties in the McVeye trial, Waco, and other high profile cases, is evidence of the corruption which exists in our justice system and extends to the operation of our local, county and state government, at the expense and demise of our system of government.
The North Branch Citizens For A Better City, a nonprofit corporation formed as a watchdog of government, has taken on the challenge to ensure that justice is served by the enforcement of the Laws of Our Land, while our justice system seems to be more interested in the protection of a corrupt system for the ìgood old boys.î
The press could provide a valuable service to the public, by providing unbiased coverage of this process, which it apparently has dropped, due to the threatened law suit, by the alleged criminals.
