The best State Fair in the land - Minnesota State Fair coming Aug. 23-Sept. 3

The 2001 Minnesota State Fairís entertainment options include six free entertainment stages, a Grandstand lineup of top stars, a new sky ride, Teen Fair and food galore, along with hundreds of the nationís best agricultural, educational and commercial exhibits. The 2001 State Fair runs Thursday, Aug. 23 through Labor Day, Sept. 3.
Entrance gate hours for the 2001 State Fair are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (gates close at 9 p.m. on Labor Day)
Regular admission to the fair is $7 for adults ages 13 through 64, $6 for seniors age 65 and over, $6 for youths ages 5 through 12, and free for kids under age 5. Discount admission tickets are available through Aug. 22 for $5 and are good for any age, any day of the fair.
Discount Mighty Midway and Kidway tickets, good for rides and games, are also available pre-fair at $10 for a sheet of 20 tickets. During the fair, ride and game tickets will be 75 cents for a single ticket, $15 per sheet of 24 tickets or $30 per sheet of 54 tickets.
All pre-fair discount tickets are available on-line at www.mnstatefair.org until Aug. 15, or at the State Fair box office on the fairgrounds, all participating Cub Foods Stores and numerous out-state locations through Aug. 22. New this year is the Minnesota State Fair Blue Ribbon Bargain Book with over 90 coupons offering great savings on food, merchandise and attractions. Included are two-for-one deals as well as generous percentage discounts off single items. Coupons are valid all 12 days of the fair.
Pre-fair purchase price for The Blue Ribbon Bargain Book is $4 and books are available wherever discount admission and Midway tickets are sold.
During the fair, the discount book will be available only at the Minnesota State Fair Gift Shop on the fairgrounds for $4.50.
Cheapskateís Guide to the fair will highlight many of the discounts, bargains, special deals and give-aways available at the 2001 State Fair.
The guide is available free at all information booths. Also on hand will be Cheapskate the Chick, the guideís ambassador, who will be handing out eggs containing coupons for free items.
