New NB City Councilors, Mayor are sworn in Jan. 8

New North Branch Mayor John Pinsonneault was joined by Councilmen John Pace Jr. and Rodney Lofquist in taking their oaths of office at the city council meeting Jan. 8.

In the public comment portion of the meeting John VonLange, North Branch, said he looked forward to a new era and a renewed bond between the council and the residents of the city.
VonLange said he thought he spoke for many citizens of the city when he said he was ělooking forward to new and improved relationships... and to a very strong future in North Branch.î

ěThank you, John; the feeling is mutual,î replied Mayor Pinsonneault after VonLange finished speaking.

The council voted to set a public hearing on an Oakview Tax Increment Finance (TIF) District for Feb. 12, prior to the councilís regular meeting.

The council voted to deny, for the moment, a $2,000 budget allotment request from the park board for ěhelp with start-up costs for concerts in Central Park,î according to city literature.

The council voted to deny the request, for the moment, until more information is known.
