Posted 1/18/01 130 children received gifts through Giving Tree To the editor: During the holiday season, 130 children received gifts from the Giving Tree in Rush City. The Giving Tree is a joint holiday effort by the Rush City Family Center and the Rush City Jaycees to furnish gifts to children in our district. A holiday tree was on display at the Main Street Market Mall filled with tags representing a child in need. Interested persons took a tag off the tree and bought a gift for the child represented by the tag. On Friday, Dec. 15, parents picked up the gifts for their child/ren, along with wrapping paper and tape to deliver to their children. I would like to publically thank all those who supported the Giving Tree by purchasing gifts or donating money. It is astounding to see the spirit of giving alive in so many of our community members.
