Growth snowball is gathering speed

To the editor:
Tuesday nightís council meeting was in the new Council chambers at City Hall. Very nice - but not enough room or chairs.
One of the items on the agenda was another development - Woodduck Pond. Do we need another 140+ houses? Where are the children going to school? Think council.
The burden on our infrastructure is becoming visible to all. The streets are impassable now not only at school time in the morning, but afternoons between 3:30 and 6 p.m. and are a complete nervous breakdown.
The citizens of North Branch were sending a message to the Council when the referendum was shot down. Stop the excessive growth. Did the Council hear us? I donít think so. The main question to the developer was ìwho is going to pave the streets?î Our main concern is educating the children. Number two question might be who is paving Hemingway?
With all the developments going on and the new one off of Falcon, (Wildridge, which is large), are our children being the ones to suffer in this battle?
Why must it be a battle at all? It comes down to cause and effect. The planning commission and council are causing the problem and it is affecting our children. Think.
Can we, as taxpayers, afford this? Itís a snowball that keeps gathering speed - out of control - and scary.
