Dist. 138 addresses class configuration at Saturday meeting
By MaryHelen Swanson
At a quickly-called special North Branch School Board meeting, held 9 a.m. Saturday, March 10, the school board addressed two items, at least one a carryover from the Thursday night (March 8) board meeting.
According to a school representative, the board addressed the future grade configuration as it would be affected by the construction of a new school building should the planned May referendum pass.
The $24 million proposal calls for a new building to be built south of the high school. The initial discussion was that it was to be an elementary building.
Saturday morning, the board approved placing grades three, four and five in that new building; keeping grades one and two in the present primary building; and keeping kindergarten at the Main Street School.
The board also approved the fire marshallís corrective plan for items at the Main Street School, the high school, primary school and middle school.
At presstime, the Post Review did not have a copy of that plan.
