Bench at Wild River State Park dedicated to late Senator Janet Johnson
The Friends of Wild River State Park at their Annual Meeting and Pancake Breakfast dedicated a park bench to the Late Senator Janet Johnson. Senator Johnson was a leading environmentalist and state park supporter in the Legislature. The park bench was donated to the State Park by the Friends in honor of Senator Johnsonís strong support for Wild River State Park during her years in the State Senate.
During the annual meeting Friends members heard reports from Rich Bruns, Park Manager, Dave Crawford, Park Naturalist, Chuck Kartak, Regional Parks Administrator, Dorian Grilley of Minnesota Parks and Trails, and Senator Twyla Ring.
In addition, they heard about last Januaryís Candlelight Ski and upcoming Seegwan Celebration on May 19th and Fall Cultural Heritage Series. The members were also briefed on the May 19th March for Parks, Prairie Burns, and April 21st Sunrise River Clean-up.
