ëRoom for Growingí childcare center up and running in NB
ëRoom for Growingí childcare center opened on Feb. 5th at its location on 14th Avenue next to the Allina Health Care Clinic in North Branch.
Room for Growing provides childcare for youngsters between six weeks of age and eight years, with a summer discovery program through age 12.
Full and half-day programs are available, plus an hourly rate to suit parentsí work schedules. The center is open year around, Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Room for Growing has a flexible, comprehensive preschool education program and a nurturing, stimulating environment for infants and toddlers.
The centerís staff believe the process is more important than the product; the curriculum is planned to give children opportunities to explore in the areas of math, science, art, cooking and reading readiness. They help children learn, grow and develop socially through age-appropriate programs.
In addition to their new, regular structured curriculum, Room for Growing will offer extra curricular classes that are taught by professional instructors in dance, computers, gym sports, music and karate.
Room for Growing officials believe every child is a special and unique individual. Developing happy, secure children while fostering independence, encouraging self confidence and teaching respect for ourselves and others are the centerís primary goals.
Room for Growing staff work to provide a friendly and comfortable place for parents, too. The centerís personnel strive to develop an open communication system, and parents are regularly informed of their childís progress.
Room for growing has been serving children in the Forest Lake and Chisago areas for the past 17 years and is excited to be a part of the North Branch area.
Staff at the childcare center place an emphasis on safety, as the center is equipped with an electronic security system accessible only by parents and staff. Parents are given a code which allows them to access the center, and each classroom is monitored via closed circuit television.
Each of the classrooms is equipped with an observation window in order that parents can see their children interacting with others without being noticed.
Also, a certified health consultant monitors the safety and developmental program on a monthly basis.
Parents of infants may be comforted in knowing their child is assigned a primary caregiver throughout his or her stay in the infant program.
Room for Growing invites parents to visit the program at their convenience.
Space is currently available in all of Room for Growingís programs. An open house is set for Thursday, March 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Visitors are welcome at the center at any time. Stop in for a visit and youíll see, itís ìthe little things that make a difference.î
