Search warrant uncovers meth lab in north Chisago County, dangerous dog seized
During execution of a search warrant on the night of March 19, at a home on Fairfield Ave. north of Rush City, close to the Pine County line, members of the Chisago, Pine and Kanabec counties Sheriff Departments, along with Minnesota State Patrol officers, discovered materials used in connection with the manufacture of methamphetamine and arrested and charged Dale Casler, Jr., 36, with manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree, attempting to manufacture a controlled substance in the first degree and felony possession of anhydrous ammonia.
Casler also had a ìdangerous dogî warrant out and a dog was seized, according to Chisago County Deputy Tom Alvin.
He also noted that ìnot a lot of finished product (methamphetamine) was found.î
In speaking with the Post Review, Alvin expressed concern that there are a lot of meth labs in the area and acknowledged the danger that can be associated with the possession of ingredients used in the process.
He said this particular case might possibly be a spinoff of another in Pine County.
In addition to the ingredients and items needed to manufacture and use methanmphetamine, electronic surveillance equipment, including video cameras and a police scanner, were found in the home.
Casler was in court March 21 where bail was set at $20,000.
