Young Rush City inventor heads to State competition in Redwood Falls
Rush City fourth-grader Shelbi Logue will be heading to the State Inventorís Congress in Redwood Falls in early June with her invention the Family Vitamin Holder.
According to Jacobson Elementary teacher Sue Stang, Logue is the first-ever Rush City student to go on to the state congress.
Logue, Sophie Bossart (second grade) and Lauren Weber (fourth grade, all from Rush City, were among the 300 contestants participating in the Regional Inventorís fair at St. Cloud on Feb. 27. These three took first, second and third place at the Jacobson Elementary Inventorís Fair on Feb. 7.
Logue said she invented the vitamin holder so her mom could keep track of the familyís daily vitamin doses. Each family member has a compartment containing his/her daily vitamins for a full week. The clear box readily helps the family know if they have taken their vitamins for each day.
