Stacy first-graderís essay wins Timberwolves tickets, then donates to Gala/Silent Auction set for March 24

When young Jacob Cisar of Stacy and his mom, Vicki, saw the announcement of the Timberwolves ticket contest on the Rainbow Foods grocery bag, they got a brilliant idea.

Jacob would enter and do something very special with the tickets. Jacob had to write a short essay on why his school should receive the tickets. So Jacob wrote that they would be an excellent auction item for the Gala/Silent Auction that St. Johnís Academy in Stacy is holding this month to raise money to add a second grade and improve the library and computer equipment. He was delighted to learn his essay was the winning entry.

A couple weeks ago, Jacob, other children from St. Johnís first grade, kindergarten and preschool, and a few parents took a bus ride to Hopkins to the offices of Rainbow Foods to pick up the tickets and meet R. Pat Liska, president of Rainbow Foods.
The reception consisted of cookies and milk for the children, a photo shoot with Mr. Liska, $100 check for the school and lots of laughs, hugs and thank yous. After Liska found out more about the school and that they were using the 16 Timberwolves tickets for the Gala/Silent Auction, he generously gave St. Johnís Academy four Minnesota Wild tickets with box seat admission and a parking pass.
