Posted 5/16/01 Duck & weave To the editor: In response to the letter to the editor from Senator Ring. Written like a career politician. You state that you believe that law abiding citizens should be able to own and carry guns. But in the next sentence you state that the Minnesota Citizens Personal Protection Act has ìmany weaknesses.î You neglect to delineate what those weaknesses are. But you have certainly given yourself the out you need to vote no on this controversial bill. Certainly a yes vote would run contrary to the liberal support that you have in your district. I see your rhetoric for what it is, a way to avoid angering your liberal support base, while at the same time trying to appease the people in your district that want you to live up to your word.
