Amber Sausen represents Illusion Theater in Washington D.C.
Amber Sausen, a 2000 graduate of North Branch High School, and former member of Illusions Theaterís Peer Education Program, recently represented the 21 Peer Education sites from various states in Washington, D.C.
Sausen was with the Illusion Theaterís River Blues Touch Troupe for three years and was chosen by Director Ellen Hoiland and Illusion Theater staff to represent the 21 Peer Education sites in accepting the prestigious Coming Up Taller Award presented by the Presidentís Committee on the Arts and Humanities in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities.
The Illusionsí Peer Education Program was one of only 10 programs nationwide to receive this award this year. A national jury of experts reviewed 247 nominations from 44 states to select the top 10 recipients.
The Coming Up Taller Award was established three years ago to recognize and contribute to outstanding and innovative programs in the arts and the humanities that provide children with safe havens to develop and explore their own creative and intellectual potential.Right: Amber Sausen at the White House
