She encourages residents to attend comp plan meeting Aug. 19

To the editor:
On Monday Aug. 19 at 7 p.m., at city hall the planning commission will be making their recommendation to the city council as to the comprehensive plan. Many people came to voice their opinions last month. Everyone who stood up and spoke, (there are hundreds more who didnít take the opportunity to speak up), wanted the city to slow down the residential growth.
Not one person stood up and spoke for increased growth. The new plan as stated would increase growth with the potential of 10 percent growth or more with no defined water/sewer areas.
The water/sewer line could be extended a quarter mile to a development. Once there, it would go through the development. Then it could be extended a quarter mile in any or all directions again.
This, over the course of 20 years, will bring in untold amount of people to North Branch.
In my opinion, I believe the planning commission and city council need to listen to the citizens of North Branch and not just those selected few who seem to make money on development. The little guy must county just as much as the developer, contractor and realtor.
