NBHS football starts season with Vikings Pride competition

The 2002 Vikings football squad began practices Monday under first-year head coach Joel Swanson.
The usual drills and scrimmages were replaced during the morning workout session with something new to the team: the Vikings Pride competition.
Swanson designed the competition to start the players off with a strong sense of pride in themselves and pride in the team. It included endurance and strength events. The following is a list of the winners, overall and in all events.

Vertical jump:
Ben Stenberg, 31 inches; Mike Dahlke, 30 inches; Jared Gagne, 29 inches; Jeremy Valentin, Jake Anderson, Britt Baumann, 26 inches.
60 second jump rope:
Joe Ranger, 159 jumps; Jake Martin, Gavin Hall; 137 jumps; Mike Ferguson, 125 jumps; Ben Stenberg, 123 jumps.
Bench weight:
Mike Dahlke, 236 pounds; Phil Olson, 224 pounds; Zeb Sims, 220 pounds; Marc Vanden Heuvel, 218 pounds; Mitchell Anderson, 208 pounds.
Squat weight:
