Many thanks go out to those who made teen dances successful

TO THE EDITOR:
We would like to thank the many volunteers and businesses that helped to make the community-sponsored teen dances in North Branch this summer a huge success. The dances were held on Tuesday, July 16, July 30, and August 13. Each week we had over 50 youth in attendance. The teen dances were held at North Branch High School in the cafeteria and youth enjoyed music, dancing, friends, pizza, pop, prizes, and fun! Money to purchase the stereo for the dances and have a MN MADD crash car present at the Aug. 13 dance was granted to the North Branch Youth Advisory Board by the Youth As Resources board. The youth group from United Methodist Church of North Branch provided the youth with pizza and pop and the North Branch Police Department provided security at all the dances.
A warm and heartfelt thank you from all of us goes out to the following businesses and volunteers who helped to make the teen dances such a success and memorable experience for all youth who attended: North Branch Youth Advisory Board, North Branch Community Education, North Branch Police Department, Chisago County Public Health, United Methodist Church, Community Partnership with Youth and Families and their Youth As Resources Program, the MADD Chapter of Chisago County, North Branch Chamber of Commerce, Dominos Pizza, Pizza Hut, McDonaldís, Dairy Queen, Family Video, Taco Bell, Jake Johnson, Matt Tahja, Gisele Driscoll, and John and Kim Barney.
