Tiger hoops win over Isle

Although the boys basketball team suffered at the hands of trhe Mora Mustangs last week, the team turned it around to take down Isle just a couple days later.
In the Mora game, the Rush City boys took a tough 73-66 loss.
The game was close and nearly equally matched until the fourth quarter, when Mora squeeked by the Tigers to take the win.
Senior Brett Dreissig took 26 points for the team, going 12 for 18 from the field.
Senior Kyle Mold had 17 and senior Joe Prettner added to the score with 10.
Bencher Andrew Kaufmann came into the game and added seven to the board and snagged seven rebounds for the Tigers.
The Tigers out-rebounded the Mustangs, bringing down 15 over the Mustangs 5 rebounds.
Coach Gary Dreissig said the team needs to keep close watch over any leads it gets this season; something the team let slip away in the Mora match-up.
In the first quarter, the scores stood at 13 apiece. Mora Came in to score 16 in the second, but Rush City brought in 17. The lead was short lived as the Mustangs drained 23 in the third and 21 in the fourth to Rush Cityís 22 and 14, respectively.
The boys varsity basketball team from Rush City High School romped Isle in an away match-up that ended with an 82-42 victory for the Tigers.
All eleven players who played during the game for the Tigers scored at least once before the end of the third quarter.
The teamís field goal percentage was 64 and they went 6 of 8 from outside the 3-point arc.
The Tigers not only rolled Isle in points, but the team out-rebounded the Huskies 32-14.
Four player took double-digit points for the night including Brett Dreissig (16), Antione Fields (12), Kellin Sybrant (11) and Tim Karnick (11).
ěIt was encouraging to see us come out ready to play after our tough loss to Mora on Tuesday,î said Tiger head coach Gary Dreissig.
The win takes the teamís conference record to 1-0 and its overall record to 1-1.
The Tigers next travel to the St. Johnís Tournament on Thursday to face host St. Johnís in a 6 p.m. matchup at St. Johnís Universityís old gym.
