What happened to the thrift store?

To the editor:
Does anyone know what happened to our Thrift Store?ÝIt was running well with volunteers from our churches through the ministerium.ÝSuddenly it became part of Family Pathways. Many volunteers fell away but were slowly returning to help Trudy who was doing a fantastic job at the old Neighbors Helping Neighbors site.
We were told Family Pathways was looking for a larger space for us.ÝWhy in the world would they close the store until they found a new location? ÝTrudy had made space to add household items as well as the clothing.ÝIt was a mystery to all of us how she worked the magic of finding places for it all but it looked great.
This is a store that is necessary in our community.ÝIt undoubtedly is going to become even more necessary as the economy continues to slide.Ý One wonders if it was in the best interest of North Branch to allow Family Pathways to take it over.ÝWas it the management of Family Pathways intention to close it down from the beginning? Volunteers and shoppers would like to see this store reopened somewhere in the North Branch community.Ý
We certainly hope Family Pathways doesnít intend to close our food shelf here in North Branch.ÝThat would be a disaster.
Who has the answer to this?Ý Certainly many have an interest in seeing the Thrift Store return.
