The J.V. squad picked up a 1-1 tie in its game, as North Branch seventh-grader Nicole Plaster scored the lone goal for the Saints on an unassisted breakaway.
The varsity team followed its win up with a 1-1 tie against Princeton Nov. 14, a 4-2 loss to Armstrong Nov. 16 and a 4-1 loss to Centennial Nov. 19.
The losing streak was broken when the team picked up a 4-3 overtime win against Eveleth Nov. 22.
The Saints were down 3-1 in the third period when head coach Joe Fredrickson decided to pull the goalie to add another offensive player.
The move worked, as St. Francis / North Branch picked up one goal and then added another with six seconds left in the third period to tie it up.
St. Francis freshman Emily Olson scored at 1:20 into overtime on an unassisted end-to-end rush for the win.
Building off an exciting overtime win, the varsity team picked up its third win the next day, Nov. 23, in a 3-0 shutout over Moose Lake.
Next up, the squads face Wright County Thursday, Dec. 5.
