Laura Grahek

Laura Evelina Grahek died Feb. 22, 2002, at Alterra Clare Bridge in Eagan, Minnesota having reached the age of 88 years.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City, Minn. with Father Ralph Huar officiating. Organist was Dianne Kirchberg and the soloist was Jan Goebel. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Harris.

Laura, the daughter of Otto and Blanche (Veith) Roos, was born Jan. 4, 1914 in Harris, Minn.

As a young woman, Laura worked and lived in Minneapolis, Minn. for a period of time before moving to Washington, D. C. in 1940. While living in Washington, she was employed by the Department of Defense and also worked at the Pentagon.

In 1942, Laura was united in marriage to Louis Grahek.
After 31 years of service, Laura retired from government work and she and Lou moved to Vista, California. During her retirement she became an avid golfer and also did volunteer work at Tri-City Hospital in Vista.

Following Louís death in 1990, Laura continued to make her home in California for a few years. In 1993 she returned to Minnesota so she could be closer to her family.
When Lauraís health began to fail, she moved to Alterra Clare Bridge in Eagan, Minnesota.

She is survived by her sister: Pearl Wicklander of Minneapolis; niece and husband: Jan and Ken Vraa of Eagan; nephew: Wally LeMon of Harris; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Blanche Roos; her husband, Louis; sister: Anna LeMon; and brother: Carl Roos.
