OpinionConcerned over the demise of rural North BranchTo the editor: North Branchís annexation of Branch Township is finally bearing its poisonous fruit. Rural North Branch is clearly to serve as an industrial/residential wasteland, like Blaine, fulfilling the economic interests of the developers running the city. Since Branch Township has lost its once proud political voice and arm, further dismemberment of the Agricultural District is a certainty given the current majority on the city council. Should the residents of rural North Branch organize and turn out at the next election there may yet be hope that this disastrous trend can be reversed. Mark Oberg ©ECM Post Review |
