Trinity Bible Church moves into new spaceBy Barbara Brown Trinity Bible Church is one of the newest members of the North Branch Chamber of Commerce. Pastor Gene Friberg knows the congregation at Trinity Bible Church may not fill up the 600-seat potential of the sanctuary, but he hopes one day it will. When asked why Pastor Friberg decided to join the chamber, he said: ìI had the opportunity to meet 40 people Iíd never met before.î Pastor Friberg said he thought the chamber relationship could help build partnerships with area businesses and other churches. The pastor said he would like to see the services at the church expand. He said if area churches, like St. Johnís Lutheran in Stacy or Trinity Lutheran in North Branch would ever want to expand the numbers of students or classes they serve, Trinity Bible Church would be interested in a partnership. The church of about 120 members recently relocated to its new location on County Road 14 and Kable Avenue from its previously building on Highway 8. The congregation dedicated the new building Oct. 21. ìWe originally planned to add onî to the old church, Pastor Friberg said. ìThen this church came up for sale and we thought weíd go ahead and spend a little more money and get five times the space.î Currently, Trinity Bible Church holds Sunday school classes for all ages, and even has separate classes for families and women if they are interested. Sunday services are held in the sanctuary and members and visitors can mingle between Sunday school and church to enjoy doughnuts, coffee and catching up with each other. Church services are highlighted with music from drums, bongos, electric guitars and keyboards. A Wednesday night youth night for students through high school also is available. For interest adults, the church hosts a ìviolence-freeî tour of Israel through a video series Pastor Friberg picked up. Pastor Friberg said the videosí host takes a tour of Israel and integrates history with Biblical significance. A guest group will lead services Jan. 20. The faith-based performing arts ministry is from New York and travels across the country. Call 651-674-5112. ©ECM Post Review |
