Stan GehrmanStan Gehrman, age 89, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 at Green Acres Country Care Center in North Branch, Minn. Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 19 at the First Lutheran Church of Harris, Minn. Reverend Harry Eklund officiated. Music was provided by Anita Ryberg and Carolyn Holmstrom. A spring interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Stan Gehrman was born June 20, 1912 in Bay City, Wisconsin to Frederick & Augusta (Plifka) Gehrman. Stan left his parentís home at a young age and worked at various jobs including bartender, cook and anything else that could be found especially during the Depression. He worked at Capital Gears in St. Paul for the last 20 years of his working life and retired in 1977. His great joy in retirement was hunting and fishing and several trips made to Canada and Alaska. For many years, he had a fish house on Mille Lacs Lake which he had built himself. He went deer hunting every fall as well as duck, geese and pheasant hunting. He was very proud of getting a bear one year. He married Hazel in 1955 and they lived in St. Paul until they both retired and moved to the North Branch area.
