Vikes claim victory over St. Croix
Scores continue to improve
The North Branch junior varsity gymnastics squad picked up a win against St. Croix Falls last Thursday, defeating St. Croix 83.25 to 78.85. The team was led by Amanda Matzke, who captured first in the all-around, with a second on bars and second on floor. Lindsey Larson earned a 6.85 on bars to take first in that event, while Lisa Curwick captured first on vault with a 7.1. Nick Chouinard led the meet with a 6.5 on beam, for first place, while Aileen Shanley took first on floor with a 5.95. Krystal Blesener was second on vault, with a 6.9. In the all-around, Trisha Pizzuti was second, with a third on floor. This week, the qymnastics teams begin the second half of their season, scheduled to take on St. Anthony Tuesday and Grantsburg Thursday. They return home next Tuesday with a meet against Sauk Rapids.
