LSFCUís Chain of Hearts will
help raise money for disabled children

Itís time to help children with disabilities by supporting Lake State Federal Credit Unionís Chain of Hearts campaign.

The campaign is a fundrasier for Gillette Childrenís Specialty Healthcare, a Childrenís Miracle Network affiliate hospital.

Chain of Hearts runs from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15.

The program asks members, community residents and area businesses to remember the special people in their lives during the upcoming Valentineís Day season.

People who donate to the Childrenís Miracle Network through the campaign will have the name of their loved ones displayed as part of the Lake State Federal Credit Unionís lobby decorations.

Paper chain links will feature the name of the donor for each person who gives $1. Paper hearts will be displayed with the names of donors of $5.

ìIf you are fortunate to have healthy children or grandchildren, or if you have a special Valentine in mind, buying a link or heart is a great way to show your love while helping children in need of medical care,î said Darrell Ruhland, marketing manager at Lake State Federal Credit Union.

ìThe Chain of Hearts is one way we are living the credit union philosophy of ëpeople helping peopleí,î Ruhland said.
Last year Lake State Federal Credit Union raised over $700 for the Childrenís Miracle Network during the Chain of Hearts campaign.

The credit unionís project is part of a statewide fund raising effort for the Childrenís Miracle Network.

As part of the Credit Unions for Kids program, Minnesota credit unions and their trade associations raised more than $180,000 in 2001 to benefit Gillett Childrenís Specialty Healthcare.

Gillette is an independent, not-for-profit hospital and clinic in St. Paul. Other clinic locations include Minnetonka, New Brighton, Moose Lake, Cloquet, Grand Rapids, Brainerd, Duluth, Hibbing, International Falls and Virginia.
