Wellstone should be praised for opposing tax break for wealthy
TO THE EDITOR: A recent article in the Star Tribune described Norm Colemanís criticisms of Sen. Wellstoneís tax record. I disagree with Mr. Colemanís assessment. I think that Sen. Wellstone should be praised for opposing tax breaks that principally benefit the wealthy and are the height of fiscal irresponsibility. President Bush is continuing the legacy of his father by putting us back into deficit spending. The primary cause is his $1.3 trillion tax package passed last year. It blows the Social Security surpluses, closes out investments in education, and gives 50 percent of it. Jane Begich-Johnston Sunrise Township
