Legion team goes 1-1
The North Branch Legion baseball team went 1-1 last week, with a loss to Milaca and a win against Hinckley. In Thursdayís 8-6 win over Hinckley, the locals bounced back from a 6-1 deficit in the second inning, scoring two in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth. Andy Huberty, Darrin Vogt and Jake Sykes shared pitching duties. Huberty had three hits and Mike Delaney notched two. Milaca downed North Branch 12-2 Friday at home. Jake Anderson, Ryan Peterson and Delaney pitched for North Branch. Huberty and Brandon Trampe had two hits each, while Jeremy Anderson, Zach Carlbom and Jon Lewis had singles. The teamís next home games come July 9 against Pine City and July 11 against Cambridge. Legion members and guests are invited to the Cambridge game for free hot dogs in appreciation of their support for the team.
