Tautges appointed U.S. chair of HLB InternationalHLB Tautges Redpath, Ltd., recently announced that managing director Robert G. Tautges has been elected U.S. chair of HLB International. HLB International is a worldwide organization of mid-size accounting firms that includes affiliates representing 100 countries. Member firms can refer their clients who are doing business internationally to HLB affiliates with expertise in other countries, and they serve as resources to other HLB firmsÇ clients doing business in their home country. As U.S. chair of HLB International, which has 20 member firms in the United States, Tautges will work to realize several goals, including higher visibility for HLB International member firms as viable alternatives for international accounting and business advisory services. ìRecent events in the accounting industry are creating new opportunities for HLB International member firms, and thatÇs where I plan to focus my attention as chair,î Tautges said. ìOur unique capabilities of providing local service and global reach are in high demand.î Tautges has been involved with HLB International since 1989. He says his firmís affiliation with HLB arose from a need to help a local client expand to several overseas markets, which required significant international accounting expertise. ìFrom Argentina and New Zealand to China and the European community, business issues and practices are very different. ìAs an HLB member, we can offer our clients access to responsive, expert international service from an approachable company like ours.
