NB man takes first place in 3-axle truck class at the truck driving championshipsJim Kroschel, a professional truck driver for US Foodservice ñ Eagan, took first place in the 3-axle truck class at the Minnesota Truck Driving Championships June 8 and 9, an annual competition hosted by the Minnesota Trucking Association Safety Council. Kroschel, who drives for US Foodservice ñ Eagan and lives in North Branch, had the top cumulative score following the written test, oral interview, pre-trip inspection of the vehicle (where defects are planted by the judges) and driving skills course with six pre-arranged driving obstacles. Doug Baer, from Fed Ex Freight, was named the grand champion for the event, receiving the highest overall score among all classes of competitors. The team award went to US Foodservice in Eagan, Minn., with their drivers receiving the highest average score. Kroschel and the other class champions will compete in the 2002 National Truck Driving Championships August 13-17, in Milwaukee, Wisc. ©ECM Post Review |
