Council approves twin home projectBy MaryHelen Swanson The Rush City Council, Monday night, June 10, accepted the recommendation of the cityís planning commission and approved a conditional use permit for Floyd and Cindy Petty for construction of a twin home. The dwelling will be located at 30 West Third Street where it will be placed on two lots with two driveways. The 100-year-old maple tree on the property will be saved during construction, noted Ray Willette, Cindy Pettyís father, who represented the couple at the council meeting. The Pettys plant to sell the homes individually, but will rent them out if they do not get buyers. At the June 4 planning commission meeting there was no one present in objection to this proposal. In other business, the council: ï Approved payment of bills in the amount of $85,537.46, which included $1,100 to bring the three special attraction planes to town for the Fly-In/Drive-In. Final cost of the planes was not determined as the pilots were also given fuel for their planes. Other items on the list of bills included two $14,000 payments for April and May police coverage by the Chisago County Sheriffís Department. ï Approved beer and liquor license and renewals for the following: VFW-club on sale liquor and on sale Sunday; Jaycees-on sale 3.2 beer; Heatco/Conoco Softball-on sale 3.2 beer-two days (softball tournament- July 20-21); Rock Creek Lions-on sale 3.2 beer-one day (Dennis Kirk Customer Appreciation Day-June 29); Eagles -club on sale liquor and club on sale Sunday. ©ECM Post Review |
