Heidi L. Filas

Heidi Louise Filas died as a result of an automobile accident in northern Chisago County on May 29, 2002 at the age of 32 years.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. Soloist was Traci Christensen. Honorary urn bearers were Scott Filas, Adam Krebs, and Pip Amundsen.

Heidi was born Feb. 7, 1970 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

At an early age she moved with her family to Isanti, Minn., where she attended school. She stopped attending school before graduation, however, she later returned and completed all the requirements to receive her diploma from Pine City High School in Pine City, Minn. She later enrolled in college courses at Pine Technical College in Pine City.

During her life, Heidi was employed as a bartender and waitress. One of the places she worked was at the Village Inn in Pine City.
She loved doing crafts and taking her sons and brothers to museums, movies, the zoo, or anywhere else that was educational. She also did a little traveling and visited such places as Las Vegas and New Orleans.

She loved music, her favorite performer being Reba McIntire.

She is survived by her sons: Ryan Schwinn and Jaxxon Johnson; parents, Carla and Larry Carlson; brothers: Scott Filas and Adam Krebs, all of Pine City; grandmother, Charee Watters of Hawaii; nephew Joshua Heinl-Filas; aunts and uncles: Candy and Lenny Donovan, East Bethel, Minn., Pip Amundsen, Minneapolis, Billy and Lori Schultz, Minneapolis, Mike Schultz, Monticello, Minn., and Tony Carlson of Calif.; cousins: Angela (George) Zajac, Bobbi Jo Auman, Richard Persund, and Glenda Persund.

Heidi was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret Schultz, and her aunts,
Caroljean Filas and Caroline Wincek.
