Vera E. Lind

Vera E. Lind died at Solbakken in Bloomington, MN. on June 17, 2002, having reached the age of 94 years.

Vera Elizabeth Lind, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Wick) Forsberg, was born at Rush City, Minnesota on Feb. 4, 1908. She grew up on their small family farm and attended church and school where Swedish was the spoken word.

Vera was united in marriage to Harold Lind, and they worked side by side on their rural Rush City farm. When Harold died in 1967, Vera sold the farm and moved to town.

There she worked as hard at the local laundromat and health care facility as she had when she lived on the farm. She greatly enjoyed children and often cared for the children of her friends and neighbors.

Her family and friends were of the utmost importance to Vera. She was quite proud of the accomplishments of her family and kept up on the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As Veraís health declined she became a resident of Solbakken, an assisted living residence in Bloomington, MN. While living there she received exceptional care.

Vera is survived by her son-in-law: Verne Wiltse of Bloomington; grandchildren: Candace (John) Peck, Craig (Jan) Lofstuen, and Christopher (Heather) Lofstuen; great- grandchildren: John Jr. and Andrea Peck, Jessica and Paul Klose, Jared Peck, and Jill Peck; great-great-grandchildren: Ashley and June Peck; step-great-grandchildren: Sean and Erin Collins, Christie Mattson, Jenny and Travis Paine, Brian Miller, Mark Miller, and Laura Miller; step-great great granddaughter: Samantha Mattson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Forsberg; her husband, Harold Lind; her daughter, Phyllis Wiltse; sisters Anna McCloud, Emma Nelson, Nannie Nystrom, Florence Gustafson, and Jenny Okerson; and her brothers George, Edgar, and William Forsberg.
