Alfred J. Odenthal

Alfred J. Odenthal, 81, of New Prague, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2002 at the Margaret Parmly Residence in Chisago City, MN.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 24, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father George Freeman officiating. Interment was in Czech National Cemetery, New Prague.

Arrangements were with the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.

Alfred was born Jan. 4, 1921 at Derrynane Twp. LeSuer County, MN. to John and Magdelena (Roles) Odenthal. He was a lifelong resident of the New Prague area. He worked for Minnesota Valley Milk Plant in Belle Plaine as a truck washer, maintenance at New Prague Power Plant, janitor at New Prague Post Office and worked at local restaurants: Torch Light, Clemmers, and Mr. Bís all in the New Prague area.

On October 15, 1960 he was united in marriage to Viola E. Scmuldt at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague.

He was preceded in death by his wife Viola, grandson Matthew Stoltz, sister Viola Bohnsack and parents John and Magdelena (Roles) Odenthal.

Alfred is survived by daughter Cindy Stoltz and (friend Larry Wakeman) of Stacy, grandsons Mark and Mitchell Stoltz, nephew Allen (Linda) Bohnsack of New Prague, sisters-in-law Lois and Ruth Shuldt of Belle Plaine and Mrs. Harold (Mary) Berg of Carver.
