Kiddie Olympics, Kiddie tractor pull and other Midsummer sporting events results

On Saturday, June 22, the North Branch American Legion Post 85 sponsored its annual Midsummer Childrenís Olympics.

It was held at the North Branch High School Athletic Complex.

Games were planned for different age groups and genders and everyone who competed went away a winner.

The children competed for gold, silver or bronze medals and those who didnít place received ribbons for their efforts.

All 85 children who participated also received a Dairy Queen free ice cream coupon.

The following children participated.
Boys 3-5:
Running race: first, Michael Hensch; second, Jarod Zacharias; third, Cy Geldon. Others; William Young, Joey Reed, Alelx R., Porter Kersh, Rocky Krueser, Eli Chouinard, Zach Palmgren, Conner Palmgren, Gabe Strenke, Vaughn Strenke, Timmy Misiura.

Softball throw: first, Joey Courtright; second, Eli Chouinard; third, Michael Hensch.

Girls 3-5:
Running race: first, Samantha Paulon; second, Jami Zacharias; third, Olivia Kreuser. Others: Kayla, Bauers, Audrey Moeller, Alysia Fierro, Courtney Young, Emily Liebke, Shelby Geldon, Mariah Huberty, Jolen Amundson, Emily Misiura, Grace Wardener.

Softball throw: first, Samantha Paulon, second, Jami Zacharias, third, Olivia Kreuser.

Boys 6-8:
Running race: first, Andrew Paulon, second Brady Grummons, third, Cedric Geldon. Others: Christian C., Adam Kersh, Cade Chouinard, Jon Amundson, Michael Misiura, Cole Oehlers.

Softball throw: first, Tim Courtright, Cedric Geldon, Cade Chouinard.

Three-legged race with parent: first, Michael Misiuna; second Jon Amundson; third Cade Chouinard.

Girls 6-8:
Running race: first, Whitney Tinjum; second, Madison Kreuser; third, Sami Forsyth. Others: Kayla Bauer, Ashley Burnside, Annette Olson, Gina Amundson, Katrina Johnson, Kimberly Vennes, Caprice Geldon, Taylor Nelson.

Softball throw: first, Whitney Tinjum; second Annette Olson; third, Madison Kreuser.

Three-legged race with parent: first, Kayla Bauer; second Whitney Tinjum; third Madison Kreuser.

Boys 9-11:
Three-legged race with parent: first, Erik Chouinard; second, Ryan Norman; third, Andy Misiuna. Others: Zach Markisson, Alex Fierro, Spencer Karsh, Alex Kreuser, Josh Wurdemann.
Sack race: first, Erik Chouinard; second, Alex Kreuser; third, Spncer Kersh.

Football kick: first, Erik Stein; second Andy Misiura; third, Alex Kreuser.

Girls 9-11:
Three-legged race with parent: first, Shayna Bauer; second, Haley Gulsvig; third, Amanda Kersh. Others: Amber Munson, Seara Holland, Rachel Anne Kersh, Aly Bauer.

Sack race: first, Shayna Bauer; second Amanda Kersh; third, Haley Gulsvig.

Softball throw: first, Shayna bauer; second Amanda Kersh; third, Haley Gulsvig.

Team balloon toss: first, Ryan Norman, Caleb Pederson; second, Alex Fierro, Alex Kreuser; third, Caprice Geldon, Cedric Geldon.

Tractor Pull fun for all

The Lioness kiddie pedal tractor pull saw 40 riders test their strength and skill last Saturday, with winners taking home trophies in three age groups. The Lioness extends thanks to helpers Dale Mechels, Lynn and Lee Morrison, Steve Mork, Jan Lasch, Donna Brown, Mary Sederberg, Rosemary Morrison, Marcie Marking and the parents.

Randy Hoff and Kyle Burnside secured first and second places, respectively, in the five and six year old age bracket.

Dylan Anderson and Brandon Johnson came in first and second places, respectively, in the seven and eight year olds.

Dylan Dahlheimer and Justin Murray won the nine and 10 year old tractor pull competition

Midsummer golf tourney

Results from the Midsummer Golf Tournament are:
Championship flight: First place: Warneke, Thorson, Brodin; Second place: Thorvig, Thorvig, Thevninck; Third place: Minke Voight, Anderson.
First flight: First place: Aho, Wymore, Bistodeau; Second place: Lindbloom, Perreault, Midke; Third place: Vaughn, Tauer, Anderson
Second flight: First place: Klund, Olsen, Schmidt; Second place: Hunter, Hanson, Benolken.

Mens softball tourney

Results and sponsors from the adult mens softball tournament held at JJs Bowl and Lounge are:
First: Dave Linkertís team, B & H Plumbing;
Second: Adam Gothmanís team, BTO Mizuno;
Third: Bruce Nelsonís team, JJs Bowl.
The tournament was organized by JJís Bowl, and included 13 teams.
