Rangers end Vikesí baseball seasonNorth Branch ended its baseball season with a loss in sections to Forest Lake last Tuesday. The Vikings were handed a 10-0 loss in an error-filled game. The Vikes defense committed five errors. Senior Jake Sykes was strong on the mound, taking the loss in three innings of pitching. He gave up only two hits on four runs, and struck out four. The Rangers would score the next six runs on walks and errors, while the Vikes picked up only two hits in the contest. Brandon Trampe and Zach Carlbom came up with singles in the game. Head coach Troy Walker said it was a tough way to end the season, but overall was pleased with the teamís effort this year. ìWe always like to have more wins than seven, but we did pretty well and picked up some good wins.î Next year the team will come back minus eight seniors, many of whom started throughout the season. Returning, however, will be pitchers Andy Huberty and Jake Anderson who both hurled in several innings this year. ©ECM Post Review |
