OpinionFew weeks left to raise donations to be matched in FoodShare driveThe word ìcommunityî means different things to a variety of people. Family Pathwaysí Food Pantries of North Branch and Wyoming have been very busy getting the word out on Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign for 2002 Ö much to the help of our communities in which we live and work. The ìcommunity ì includes the individuals, clients, volunteers, churches, businesses, community groups, and local media. Family Pathways food pantries have a few weeks left to raise and increase the food poundage and financial donations to be matched by corporations and foundations during March and April (cash only in April). Many of you have so graciously surprised the food pantries with a food drive and fundraising activities. Thanks, your creative ideas and actions have touched not only our hearts, but those of the clients we serve. Donations are accepted at churches in the North Branch and Chisago Lakes area. The following businesses have agreed to have a food bin/cash cans for donations. (If you have trouble getting to the food pantries or churches during the day, many of these businesses are open after 5 p.m.) Local businesses include: Stacy ñ Sunrise Market, Stacy Amoco; Harris ñ Country Store; North Branch ñ American Legion, Curves, Dairy Queen, First National Bank, Family Pathways Thrift Store, J.J.ís Bowl, MinnCo, Nelsonís Grocery, Petersonís Home and Garden, Video Vault. Chisago Lakes area businesses include: Wyo-ming ñ Family Pathways Thrift Store, Wyoming State Bank, Curves, Fairview Hospital; Chisago City ñ Video Vault, RiverBank, Brinks, Curves, Board & Biscuit Pet Center, US Bank; Lindstrom ñ Lindstrom Foods, Many Voices; Forest Lake ñ Cub Foods, US Bank. Thanks to all businesses, organizations, schools, agencies, and places of worship who have kindly let us display posters and cash donation containers.
