Lange leads field in conference meetNorth Branchís Aino Lange continues to blow away the competition at girls golf meets this season. Last weekís competition at the Milaca Invitational was no exception, as Lange finished the 18 holes with an 82 to earn the medal. Her closest competitor came in with 92. ìShe is doing just a terrific job,î head coach Dave Ambers said. ìUnfortunately, the team struggled a bit. Our finish is not where it has been before.î The team finished with 450, which is fairly high for this squad. Milaca won the tournament with 374, while the rest of the conference teams ended the round with similar scores as North Branch. The Vikes ended in fourth place out of eight teams. With two meets postponed due to inclement weather last week, the girls will play four meets in four days this week. The schedule started with back-to-back meets at Mora Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a home meet Thursday at 4 p.m. and an away meet Friday at Foley. The Friday meet will finish up the teamís regular season. The squad will have a practice meet next week at Hinckley to gear up for sections May 28, also at Hinckley. ©ECM Post Review |
