Boys track second at 13-team meetThe Vikings boys track squad continues to capture top spots in nearly every event, and the Mahtomedi True Team meet May 7 was no exception. For its efforts, the boys team took second place out of 13 teams. Relay teams continue to dominate, as the 3,200m team, the 800m team and 1,600m team all took first. Relay team members include Sam Suparat, Ben Stenberg, Ryan Smith, Mike Wimperis, Adam Bauernfeind, Reggie Grams, Adam VandenHeuvel, Bryan Chippendale, Mark Kleven and Korey Hutchings. Scott Weispfenning took second in the 1,600m run and the 3,200m run and Grams was first in the 300m hurdles. In field events, Joe Remitz notched another first place in shot put, with a throw of 54í11.75î and first in discus with a throw of 157í2î. Mike Dahlke was second in the triple jump with a jump of 39í9.5î. The boys team from Mahtomedi captured first place. The girls squad competed in the true team meet May 9, and came away with a fourth place finish. Totino-Grace took first at the meet. The 800m relay team of Kaity Vichorek, Rauna Dallman, Michelle Vonderharr and Kelly lines took first, and the foursome duplicated the finish in the 400m race. Lines was also first in the 100m dash. In field events, Sheena Devine was second in shot put with a throw of 36í10î, and Erin Shodahl took first in discus with a throw of 119í6î. Dallman was first in high jump with a jump of 5í2î, and Lines was third in long jump with a jump of 15í4.25î. Two meets remain in the regular season for the squads, coming Thursday at Pine City and then Thursday, May 23 in the North Branch Invite, starting at 4 p.m. ©ECM Post Review |
