Golfers seek solid season finish

The Tiger golf team headed into tournament competition this week hoping for a better finish than previous seasons.

After a canceled match at Pine City last Thursday ñ the match was delayed due to foul, windy weather ñ the team traveled to Sandstone Area Country Club May 7 to a meet.

Coach Wayne Peshia said the boys team looked consistent at the end of the day, ìbetter than in previous meets,î he said. Peshia said he hoped to see more improvement between the May 7 match and Mondayís planned conference tournament.

In the Sandstone meet, sophomore Chris Sorenson scored 46, freshman Ray Grabau scored 47, junior Ryan Hanson scored 48, sophomore Tim Morris scored 49, sophomore Brandon Rands scored 50 and junior Shawn Twingstrom scored 56.

For the girls team, senior Jamie Michog scored 54, sophomore Cara Orn scored 55, sophomore Roxanne Jennings scored 59 and sophomore Heather Johnson scored 65.
