Baseball back on winning track

After three straight losses, the Vikings baseball team got back on track with an 11-3 win over conference foe Foley last Thursday.

North Branch was on the board early, when seniors Brandon Trampe and Zach Carlbom both reached on walks, and Trampe was driven home on a single from senior Jon Lewis, for the 1-0 lead after one.

The Vikes tallied two more in the second, off of singles from sophomore Jake Anderson and Carlbom, and a double from Lewis.

The Falcons answered with one in the inning.
Two more North Branch runs came in the fourth, and four runs in the fifth.

Foley added one each in the sixth and seventh, and the Vikes final two runs came in the seventh, for the 11-3 win.

Anderson picked up his first win on the mound for the Vikings, walking four and striking out five.

Lewis had the big bat for North Branch, going three for three. Carlbom picked up two hits for the cause.

This week, the team was scheduled to take on Pine City Tuesday, and will take part in the Brooklyn Center Tourney this weekend.
