Several earn all-conference in track

Several members of the North Branch track teams earned all-conference honors at the Rum River Conference Meet last Thursday at Pine City, as the girls squad captured the conference championship as well.
On the boys side, earning all-conference with first place finishes were: 800m relay- Adam Bauernfeind, Reggie Grams, Adam VandenHeuvel and Bryan Chippendale; 1600m relay- Mike Wimperis, Korey Hutchings, VandenHeuvel and Grams; 800m dash- Wimperis; 3200m run- Scott Weispfennig; shot put- Joe Remitz; high jump- Brian Perrault; triple jump- Mike Dahlke.

Also earning all-conference with second place finishes were: 3200m relay- Sam Suparat, Ben Stenberg, Ryan Smith, Wimperis; 1600m run- Weispfennig; 300m hurdles- Grams; discus- Joe Remitz.

Honorable mention went to Perrault, 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles and Stenberg, 800m dash.

For the girls squad, five captured first in individual events for all conference- Kelly Lines, 100m dash and long jump; Melissa Cedergren, 300m hurdles; Megan OíHern, 800m dash; Michelle Vonderharr, 200m dash and Erin Shodahl, discus. Second place finishes for all conference were: Vonderharr, 100m dash; 800m relay- Kaity Vichorek, Rauna Dallman, Dottie Graff, Vonderharr; 400m relay- Vichorek, Dallman, Cedergren, Lines; 3200 run- Katie Hasleiet; 1600m relay- Cedergren, Dallman, Anderson, OíHern; shot put- Sheena Devine. Honorable mention went to: Anderson, 300m hurdles; Lines, 200m dash and Devine, discus.

This week, the teams host the North Branch Invite Thursday, and begin 7AA preliminaries May 29 at Cambridge.
