New library hours start June 3

To the editor:
Several people have asked, ìWhen is the library going to be open on Mondays?î The answer is June 3, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
I know it has been a long time since the North Branch City Council approved the additional hours. Staffing needed to be worked out and the ECRL board had to give its final approval. All the preliminaries have been completed now and it is ready to happen.
Starting June 3, the North Branch Public Library will be open as follows: Monday 10-5, Tuesday 1-8, Wednesday 10-6, Thursday 1-8, Friday 10-5, Saturday 10-1.
The total open hours will be 39. Hopefully we can add more open hours again next year. We need to be closer to Forest Lake at 59 and Cambridge at 57.
Again, thanks to the North Branch City Council for their support in making this happen. In my opinion, it is a sign of progressive leadership to take this step in making North Branch a better community.
