Girls golf medals at Mora, takes first at home

The Vikings girls golf team is playing the best golf of the season, coming away with a second place finish out of 14 teams at the Mora Scramble last Wednesday, and then capturing first of four teams in a home meet Thursday.

Aino Lange, Rachel White, Hanna Lindberg and Sara Schwalbe combined for 163 at Mora. Lange and White also took first in the individual title with 65.

The team from Milaca took first by a slim five-stroke margin with 158.

Thursday, the team took first in its last home meet with 207, defeating Mora, Chisago Lakes and Pine City.

Leading the team was medal winner Lange, finishing with 38. Rounding out the scoring for the Vikings were Lindberg with 53, Schwalbe with 56 and White with 60.

Chisago Lakes took second in the meet with 212, followed by Pine City with 213 and Mora with 231.

Next week, the team starts section play with the 7AA team meet at Hinckleyís Grand National Tuesday, May 28. The season culminates with the state golf meet June 3-5.
