Walter Schlipp

Walter Schlipp, 89, of Isanti, died May 16, 2002 at the Cambridge Health Care Center.

A memorial service was held on May 18, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Church of Weber with Rev. Lyle Kath officiating. The soloist was John Ekstrom and Elan Mitterhauser served as organist.

Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch Township.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel.

Walter Paul Schlipp was born April 3, 1913 in North Branch Township, Isanti County, to William and Clara Schlipp. He was born and raised on the family farm in North Branch Township and attended country school near Weber. He was baptized, confirmed and a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church of Weber.

On Sept. 14, 1940, he married Lydia Elmstrand. They made their home and farmed in rural Isanti. They have owned the present farm for the past 58 years. Farming was his livelihood and also his enjoyment. Walter also liked to deer hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia of Isanti; eight children: Charlotte Marquart of Isanti, Vernon Schlipp of Isanti, Arlan (Dawn) Schlipp of Cambridge, Gwen Leaf of Moose Lake, Allen (Mona) Schlipp of Maple Grove, Ron (Akiko) Schlipp of Center City, Doreen (Dean) Doble of Ham Lake and Debbra Schlipp of Minneapolis; grandchildren Julie (Jon) Thompson of Stacy, Jeannie (Jeff) Paulson of Lakeland, Del Marquart, Jr. of Isanti, Annette Leaf of Minneapolis, Ryan Leaf of North Branch, Dana and Anna Schlipp of Cambridge, Alisa and Victoria Schlipp of Center City, Stephanie, Brandon and Elise Doble of Ham Lake; great-grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer and Jonathan of Stacy; brother Waldo (Marion) Schlipp of Cambridge; sister Lenore Henricks of Cambridge; and by many other relatives and friends. Walter will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
