Boys and girls track teams take second

Both the boys and girls track teams at Rush City High School pulled out all the stops April 30 when they hosted three other teams.

On the girls side, the team walked away with four first place claims and seven second place wins.
Total score for the girls was 153, falling behind Hinckley-Finlayson with 214. Ogilvie had 92 in the meet and Barnum scored 66.

The 3,200-meter relay team secured first place with the help of Becca Rogers, Janet Kemen, Kelly Moore and Amber Hoffman.

The 1,600-meter relay team of Heather Dean, Brianna Launderville, Elise Johnson and Britta Johnson pulled out a second place win.

In the 400 meter relay competition, the team of Christine Moore, Ashley Sader, Alex Saxton and Cherie Smischney captured third place.

Dean took first in long jump and fourth in the 400-meter dash.

Saxton was second in the 100-meter dash and fourth in long jump, Britta Johnson was second in triple jump, 400-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
Christine Frandsen was first in 3,200-meter run and second in 1,600-meter run.

Rogers was third in 800-meter run, Katie LaBelle was third in shot put, Hoffman was third in 1,600-meter run, and Frandsen, Kemen and Tegan Smischney tied for third in high jump
Elise Johnson was second in shot put and third in discus. Kayla Witte was first in 1,600-meter, fourth in 100-meter hurdles and fifth in long jump.

Sader took fifth in 300-meter low hurdles and sixth in 100-meter hurdles.

In the boys competition, the Tigers finished at 105, behind Hinckley-Finlayson at 276. Barnum followed in third with 102 and Ogilvie was fourth with 53.

The team had three first place finishes and five second places.

The 3,200-meter relay team of Dustin Hecht, Noah Rychart, Chad Karlsson and Josh Dahl took second.

The 800-meter relay team of Dan Gamache, Jeff Jennings, Zach Becker and Brett Dreissig took second and the 400-meter relay team of Gamache, Jennings, Becker and Jose Figueroa was third.

Figueroa took first in 100-meter dash, high jump and long jump in which he set a personal record of 19í 10î.

Dreissig was second in 110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter intermediate hurdles.

Gamache was third in shot put, Karlsson was fifth in triple jump and sixth in 800-meter run.

Jared Dahlberg was fifth in 1,600-meter run and Jennings took sixth in the 100-meter dash.
