Rauen signs intent to play at UW-Green Bay

North Branch High School senior Sarah Rauen signed a letter of intent last week to play volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, under head coach Debbie Kirch.
Rauen, a 5í9î outside hitter, was named as the Vikingsí Most Valuable Player this year and was also an all-conference selection.
Rauen was one of the key players to lead the team to the conference championship this season, and to a runner-up finish in the section finals. The Vikes ended the season with a 24-6 record.
Rauen is also an all-state academic award honoree. In addition to playing for the NBHS team, she played club volleyball with Mizuno Club Tonka.
ěSarah will add depth to our outside hitting position and will provide the best combination of ball control and offense that we will have at that position,î Kirch said. ěHer quickness makes her a dominant defensive player and her physical strength makes her a force at the net.î
Kirch also said Rauen has the athletic ability that the coaches at UW-Green Bay look for in all of their recruits, along with the technical training that will help her contribute to the program immediately.
Rauen will enroll in UW-Green Bay next fall as a freshman.
